Yes. Legally and ethically obligated to keep your records, your attendance in therapy, and the content of your sessions confidential. It is important that therapy remains a safe space where you can speak openly and honestly.
There are a few exceptions where it may be required to disclose information:
If there is a serious and immediate risk of harm to yourself or another person.
If there is suspected child abuse, elder abuse, or neglect that must be reported by law.
If you provide written authorization to coordinate care with another provider, such as a physician, psychiatrist, or other healthcare professional.
If records are requested through a valid court order, subpoena, or other legal requirement.
If you have any questions about confidentiality or its limitations, feel free to discuss them before or during treatment so you can feel informed and comfortable with the therapeutic process.

There is no one-size-fits-all timeline for therapy. Some clients benefit from short-term support, while others choose to continue longer. The frequency and duration of therapy are tailored to your individual needs, goals, and progress.

Seeking therapy doesn't mean you're unable to handle life's challenges. In fact, many people who come to therapy are functioning well and simply want additional support, insight, or tools to navigate stress, relationships, personal growth, or life transitions more effectively.
